Despite evangelism being outlawed, pastors getting executed, Bibles being banned, and 1300 hundred years of Islam rule, in 1979, there were still estimated to be 500 Christians in Iran. Nowadays, Iran has the fastest-growing evangelical movement in the world, with an estimated one million believers. The second-fastest-growing church is in Afghanistan, where the people are, in large part, being reached by Iranians.
Iran faces many internal and global challenges, and as such many are searching for answers and stability in an uncertain world.
Pray for political stability, a willingness to engage in open discussions with the West, and leadership that wants to do what is best for the people. Pray for the Iranian believers that they will be bold in sharing the Good News with others. Pray for endurance and comfort for those being persecuted and suffering for their faith. Pray for Bibles to reach the communities where the need is the greatest.
For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong" - 2 Cor. 12:10
