Afghanistan Earthquake Update

On Sunday, November 3, 2025, another powerful 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck northern Afghanistan adding to a devastating series of quakes that have rocked the country in recent months. At least 20 people were killed and more than 500 were injured, with many more left homeless as homes and shops collapsed across Balkh province and surrounding districts.

This new disaster has struck a population already reeling from earlier earthquakes, severe poverty, and harsh weather conditions. Entire families have been forced into the open, sleeping in fields or along roadsides without shelter. Thousands are now homeless, facing cold nights, hunger, and deep uncertainty.

One of our network partners is on the ground responding right now — reaching remote villages, providing emergency food, clean water, blankets, and medical transport for those most in need. Access remains difficult as roads are blocked and communication is limited, yet relief teams continue to serve faithfully and courageously.
