Hungering To Learn

Throughout church history, Christians have looked to books to receive guidance, encouragement, and the wisdom of others. But in China, purchasing Christian resources is difficult, and there continue to be complex barriers to getting Bible-based resources into the country.

In 2020, a group of Chinese believers was taken to the local police station for lengthy questioning about buying some Christian resources smuggled into China. Many were detained for more than 24 hours, and the person who sold them the books was arrested, taken to court and sentenced to seven years in prison.

Although some spiritual resources make their way into the country, it is not enough. There continues to be a growing hunger for the Word of God, and they desire the resources to help them to learn more.

Please give thanks for the wisdom and courage of those writing and distributing spiritual truth to those seeking it. Pray that the importation rules be loosened so that Chinese Christians can more easily purchase books without fear of arrest. Pray  that those who translate, publish, and sell spiritual books are kept safe from the disturbance and persecution of the enemy

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. -2 Corinthians 10:4-5
