Overview
Flame Cambodia identifies, grows, and launches young leaders from the urban poor.
We identify children and youth with leadership potential who are committed to learning.
We grow them by inspiring, supporting, and equipping them to thrive in their education while building their faith along with confidence and competence.
We launch them as emerging leaders who give back to their families, communities, and Cambodia.
What our week looks like
Flame Cambodia serves urban poor children, teenagers, and young adults, helping them grow into confident, Christ-centred leaders. I founded Flame from the call of 2 Timothy 1:6: “Fan into flame the gift of God that is in you.” Most of my week is spent mentoring the Flame leadership team and leaders in my local Cambodian church, as well as writing and leading Bible studies, devotions, sermons, and leadership training modules.
Flame now invests in nearly 1,200 young people, many of them for up to 16 hours a week—an incredible opportunity to shape lives and share an abundant life centred in Jesus.
We also partner with local churches in rural areas, supporting them to reach their communities through after-school programs and youth clubs. In addition, we provide training to church leaders on topics that strengthen both their faith and their influence.
One participant shared how this training impacted his life and relationships:
“I’ve never been someone who naturally shows affection. The ‘Love Languages’ course from Flame helped me understand that simple actions -sincere compliments, helping with housework, or listening - can show love just as much as gifts. This strengthened my marriage and taught me that as a Christian, my everyday actions reflect the love of Jesus to those around me. I want to keep growing, not for recognition, but so others can see His love in how I live.”
Stories like this show the ripple effect of Flame’s work: nurturing not only young leaders but also families, communities, and the wider church.
Things to celebrate
