Overview
Our calling at Design Outreach is using engineering to provide reliable water access in developing countries that build a bridge to carry the gospel across.
We primarily serve remote and rural areas where water supplies are lacking. Reliable pump technology for resource-lacking countries involves difficult engineering to provide affordable solutions.
To date, Design Outreach has measured over one billion litres of safe water delivered. As pump work is performed in villages, a Design Outreach pastor preaches to gospel, then follows up later for ongoing discipleship and growth.
As communities flourish physically, doors to the gospel open wider and change occurs in all areas, from education to health, to new business growth and of course, redeeming time when long walks for water are no longer required.
The common testimony of "water is life" rings true at many of the villages we visit, making it easy to share the Living Water.
What our week looks like
My personal week is usually split into three main areas: coordinating the manufacturing of very affordable pump parts in South Africa, development and testing of new pump innovations for Africa, and then weekly Bible teaching opportunities at our local church.
Things to pray for
Pray that we can successfully grow solutions across Malawi for all 60,000 villages in 2026 with affordable solutions.
Pray for scaling of gospel outreach via tracts in local stores where we sell pump parts, through personal pastoral visits by Design Outreach Pastors and by audio Bible "Listening Groups" that have been tested for impact in 2025.
Pray for the other 14 countries that Design Outreach serves in, mainly in Africa, that use different solutions than Malawi.
pray as we partner with a church planting and discipling ministry to accompany village impact.
