Overview
Merv is involved in reaching out to international students through Global Church Auckland, including the "FaithTalk" English outreach, Bible studies, social activities and prayer, as well as serving one day a week through Massey University Chaplaincy.
What our week looks like
Merv’s week is a blend of large group, small group and personal outreach to Auckland's many international newcomers. He works through Global Church, which includes many nationalities and people from different faith backgrounds or no faith at all.
They meet around tables to build connections, facilitate discussion of the sermon and pray for group members. A new English based outreach called "FaithTalk" began last year, led by a Chinese friend, and has grown to 60 to 75 regular attendees. It has already been fruitful, with participants coming to Christ and being baptised.
Merv and Adie serve as table leaders at both FaithTalk and the Global service. They also lead a weeknight Bible study for those who are more curious or keen to explore further. The church runs regular Alpha courses, and Merv contributes by writing handouts to help facilitate discussion.
Most years, Merv spends one day a week involved in outreach to Massey University international students, including Bible studies. This year is still taking shape, but an upcoming outreach will involve several churches and students, where gospels and hot cross buns will be distributed. Last year, over 150 gospels were taken, which was a significant increase from the year before. There is a strong sense that God is moving in the hearts of many young adults in this season of international uncertainty.

Pray that many will come to the first FaithTalk Camp in April and be drawn to Christ.
Pray for the Easter outreach at Massey University, that many will take gospels and be drawn into connecting with the team.
