Overview
Marty and Candice provide leadership for YWAM Ships in New Zealand, helping empower health initiatives across the Pacific, particularly in New Zealand and Fiji, while also serving in eldership roles regionally and globally.
What our week looks like
Marty and Candice serve primarily in New Zealand, including the Bay of Plenty, Waikato and East Coast regions, as well as in Fiji. Through YWAM Ships, they work alongside churches and community groups to support vulnerable and under-served communities by providing holistic health services, including dental, medical and eye care, alongside prayer and Bible distribution.
They are also deeply involved in training and discipling young people, helping to raise up and send leaders to the nations to share the gospel and support others in their faith journey.
Over the past five years, more than 18,000 people have been helped through the outreaches connected to YWAM Ships. One example shared was a young man who attended a free dental clinic in South Waikato while experiencing severe pain and distress. After receiving treatment, his situation changed significantly, and he is now thriving.
Things to celebrate
Thankful for the Lord’s ongoing financial provision, enabling them to continue serving full-time.
Thankful for God’s mercy over their family, including health, wisdom as parents and for their children as they follow Jesus in their generation.
Things to pray for
Pray for wisdom as they continue to lead both their family and their ministry with YWAM and YWAM Ships.
Pray for ongoing financial provision to enable them to continue serving in this role.
Pray that Jesus would be glorified and that many would come to know Him through the work of the YWAM Ships teams.
