Overview
Since their arrival in 1979, Kathleen has worked shoulder to shoulder with her sister Anita in Armenia, Colombia. Together, they have had a long-term role in the lives of the children they brought up between 1984 and 2008, and now continue to support them and their nine “grandchildren”. For many others, the sisters are also seen as their only “family”.
Their ministry centres on counselling, mentoring and teaching, with a particular focus on pastors and people in Christian leadership who are in crisis. They walk alongside individuals through a process of restoration and, at times, offer hospitality to those coming from outside the city.
Kathleen, as a writer, takes the lead in communicating their work more broadly, while continuing to be actively involved in mentoring, hospitality and Bible teaching, much of which now takes place via Zoom.
Anita’s experience from caring for children in earlier years has shaped her current focus in counselling and mentoring, as well as teaching seminars and leading workshops on topics related to spiritual healing and freedom in Christ.
Since the pandemic, their counselling ministry has extended beyond Colombia to include Spanish-speaking people worldwide.
