Overview
Karl and Helene, along with their daughters Ayla and Thea, serve in Papua New Guinea with Mission Aviation Fellowship, supporting mission work through technology, discipleship, and community engagement.
What our week looks like
Karl serves as IT Manager for MAF in Papua New Guinea, ensuring critical IT systems remain operational across multiple remote bases in a complex and challenging environment. His work supports MAF’s mission to reach isolated communities with help, hope, and healing through aviation and technology.
Alongside this, Karl contributes his expertise in IT engineering, networking, cybersecurity, and communications systems, while also providing training to other mission organisations in Papua New Guinea.
Helene plays a key role in family and community life, home-schooling their children and serving within MAF as an Orientation Committee Member and Compound Coordinator.
Together, they are also involved in discipleship and local outreach. They help lead The Way Collective, equipping others to live as everyday missionaries, and regularly look for opportunities to share the Gospel and support believers in their local community.
One recent opportunity involved taking a projector to a village to share a children’s Bible-based film and provide teaching tools for evangelism and discipleship. This opened doors for further invitations and brought together churches from different denominations in unity.
