Overview
Jason and Aimee partner with local leaders in Uganda who are already working among some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in their communities. As Partnership Facilitators with Bright Hope World, they support these leaders to develop and strengthen their work, with the goal of seeing people become spiritually and physically self-sustaining.
The Need
Local leaders often have a deep understanding of the needs, challenges and opportunities within their own communities. Rather than bringing in solutions from outside, Bright Hope World seeks to come alongside these leaders, supporting locally led initiatives that can bring lasting change.
This approach focuses particularly on communities experiencing significant poverty, supporting local partners as they work towards spiritual and physical transformation.
What They’re Doing
Jason and Aimee began serving as Partnership Facilitators with Bright Hope World in November 2025. Based in New Zealand, they carry out this role alongside their professional work and family commitments, with much of their Bright Hope World involvement taking place during evenings and weekends.
They build relationships with local partners in Uganda, providing encouragement and helping them develop and strengthen the initiatives they lead. They also advocate for their partners within Bright Hope World, communicating needs and opportunities for further support.
Their work includes reviewing budgets, preparing reports for donors and the Bright Hope World Executive team, maintaining regular communication with partners, and helping share the impact of their work with those who support it financially.
Jason and Aimee also travel to Uganda to spend time with partners and the communities they serve. These visits provide opportunities to review progress, understand challenges and opportunities, and strengthen the relationships that are central to their work. Their most recent visit was in October 2025, with visits expected approximately every one to two years.
The Impact
By working alongside local leaders rather than directing their work from outside, Jason and Aimee help strengthen initiatives that are locally led and grounded in an understanding of each community.
Their role helps connect these partners with the encouragement, resources and financial support they need to continue developing sustainable responses to poverty and seeing lives and communities transformed.
