Overview
Hazel serves in a small community recovering from gang control and supports local churches through practical care, discipleship and encouragement.
What her week looks like
Hazel serves in a community with significant physical, emotional and spiritual needs, as well as supporting small churches in surrounding areas that often struggle to meet the needs of their congregations.
Her week includes Bible classes and activities for children and youth, as well as leading a women’s prayer group online with participants from churches across the country. She also spends time listening and offering encouragement to people of all ages who need support.
Hazel encourages children and young people in their education and provides practical help where needed. She also supports local churches through assisting with medical needs and caring for older members, and works alongside others when relief support is required.
She has been involved in discipling younger women who are now stepping into leadership, taking responsibility for programmes in their communities and local churches. Seeing them grow and serve has been a great encouragement, particularly as they now walk alongside Hazel and support her.
