Known to many as a holiday paradise, the Maldives is home to over half a million people—yet it is one of the least-evangelised nations on earth. Islam is the only permitted faith, and the few indigenous Christians live in deep secrecy.
The nation faces political repression and upheaval, and many in society suffer from abuse, drug addiction, and broken families. Though outwardly prosperous, the people of the Maldives carry much pain and trauma.
Pray for the light and healing of Christ to shine in the Maldives. Pray for those few believers who follow Jesus in isolation, and for God to open hearts to His saving grace.
